Sydney: Australia's mayor hints at legal action against ChatGPT for sharing false information. According to a foreign news agency, the Mayor of Hepburnshire Council in Australia, Brian Hood, said that OpenAI's tool falsely claimed that he was imprisoned for accepting bribes while working for the National Australia Bank. . Brian Hood said he had never been charged with a crime. Lawyers have sent notices to OpenAI and this is the first formal attempt at defamation action. The Australian mayor has 28 days to respond to the notice, after which Brian Hood will take legal action against the company. This will be the first time that content created by ChatGPT will be sued for defamation.
